Plumbing & Heating Sales Adviser - NEW Scarborough Branch 

A full time vacancy has arisen as a plumbing and heating sales adviser. The ideal candidate would have experience within plumbing and heating sales.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team expanding and improving sales and services throughout North Yorkshire.

Our Scarborough Branch is due to open early 2019 on the Scarborough Business Park.

West Building Supplies Ltd is a local Independent Builders Merchant who has been serving the people of Bridlington and East Yorkshire for over 45 years. Based across three branches in Bridlington, we provide knowledgeable product advice, comprehensive and high quality stock and we pride ourselves on customer service.

 Duties to include:

  • Dealing with trade and retail customers both face to face and over the telephone.
  • Provide accurate quotations efficiently.
  • Giving excellent customer service and sound product advice.
  • Purchasing materials and managing stock levels.
  • Taking a proactive approach to plumbing and heating sales and using all opportunities to maximise sales and margin by building relationships with customers.
  • General housekeeping duties, ensuring counter and shop area clean and tidy.

 

Branch Manager - NEW Scarborough Branch 

Reporting directly to the Branch Director, you will play a key role in creating an efficiently-run and highly-motivated branch which will grow sales and profit.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team expanding and improving sales and services throughout North Yorkshire.

Your key responsibilities include:-

  • Effectively communicating, motivating, allocating and delegating tasks and responsibilities throughout the branch.
  • Effectively managing all branch resources (people, building, machines & vehicles).
  • Prioritising and then dealing with all issues that arise within the branch.
  • Ensuring that the branch achieves and exceeds monthly and annual targets.
  • Understanding margins and costs.
  • Ensuring that the branch implements company procedures effectively.
  • Developing an effective relationship with the branch staff.
  • Developing excellent relationships with our suppliers.
  • Liaising with Head Office for HR, sales ledger, purchase ledger and Health & Safety issues.
  • Recruitment, induction, integration and retention of staff.
  • Developing your staff in terms of coaching and mentoring.
  • Taking responsibility for specific product areas.
  • Replenishing stock.
  • Ensuring the branch is always well-maintained.
  • General housekeeping.
  • Health & Safety procedures.
  • Transport procedures.
  • Sales and Purchases.
  • Branch security.

You will need to be:

  • Able to lead by example and provide multi-task, hands-on leadership.
  • Able to work on your own initiative, but also willing to work as part of a wider team.
  • Able to allocate and delegate work fairly and effectively.
